Yesterday I met with Westinghouse and was given a tour of some of their newest LED HDTVs, some will be available in late June early August and others later on in 2010. Before I get into the details I just thave to say I was impressed not only by how nice these televisions looked but also but their low price points.
The televisions which range from 24 inches to 55 inches and all have one thing in common a profile which is less than 1.5” thick, which makes the televisions very thin and light weight, the 24 inch and 26 inch models that I saw yesterday can be hung by picture frame hooks. Can you imagine how much money you’d save using frame hooks instead of buying a vesa mount? Hundreds!
“We are very excited to launch our new LED HDTV line,” says Rey Roque, Vice President of Marketing. “Westinghouse Digital is committed to do our part to help the environment by producing a full line of energy-saving, eco-friendly HDTVs at a great price for the consumer. Our new LED HDTVs provide innovative slim and energy efficient design at a price that the average consumer can afford.”
All of the LED HDTVs from Westinghouse feature an edge lit LED that according to Westinghouse will provide a “remarkably vivid picture”.
Another thing to note about these new televisions 6 of the 8 new models will be Energy Star 5.0 Certified which means up to an 80% reduction in energy use depending on which model you get. The light bulb in your fridge probably will eat up more energy then some of these televisions.
These televisions will be available at Clubs such as Costco and retailers like Target. Will not be available at Best Buy.
The new models are:
55 Inch LD-55F970Z
46 Inch LD056F970Z
42 Inch LD-425
