Westinghouse Digital Showcases Full Lineup of New 4K LED Ultra HD LEDs at CES 2014

Feb 24, 2014

Las Vegas, NV, January 7, 2014 — Westinghouse Digital, one of the leading LED TV manufacturers in the U.S., will show its new line of 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) LED displays at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV, January 7-10, 2014 in the Las Vegas Hotel, Hospitality Suite 573.

The new 4K line will range in sizes from 39-inch to 85-inch screens and will display true, native 4K.  Current 4K sets on the market are using outdated chipsets and HDMI inputs.  Users are often forced to update firmware or do without features within days or weeks of purchase.  Westinghouse Digital knows upgrading to a new TV technology is a big commitment and is dedicated to providing the latest chipsets and technology currently available to its customers. Westinghouse Digital expects to set the benchmark standards for ultra high-end performance and fully featured models.

Rey Roque, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Westinghouse Digital said, “Westinghouse Digital has always been a leader in new TV technology.  We were one of the first manufacturers to provide 1080p sets to consumers.  A number of advances have been made since we first announced our 4K lineup.  With the launch of our new 4K UltraHD displays, Westinghouse Digital is dedicated to providing our consumers with the latest TV technology available, including 4K UHD sets.”

The new Westinghouse lineup of UHD native 4K displays consists of five models ranging from 39-inches to a whopping 85-inch set.  All feature 16×9 widescreen aspect ratios and the highest picture quality currently achievable in the video market at 3840 x 2160 pixels of resolution.  This is quadruple times the resolution of today’s best 1080p high definition displays, or four times the number of pixels. All five models are capable of displaying native 4K content and also can upconvert lower resolution content to 4K.  Unlike many consumer UHD sets that use internally bandwidth-limited video processing chip sets and use downconverting/upconverting algorithms that can adversely impact image quality, the Westinghouse UHD lineup allows true 4K pass-through from the source to the panel module displaying unparalleled fidelity and realism.

The Westinghouse Digital 85”, 75”, 65”, 55” and 39” 4K Ultra HD Displays will be available at the end of Q2 2014.
