For anyone looking to buy a new TV on a budget, they picked a good time to do it since Westinghouse has launched a slew of affordable LED HDTVs. These new displays manage to be super thin, power efficient, affordable, and they also sport great picture quality thanks to the LED technology inside of them. These new series also happen to be the most affordable LED TVs we’ve seen yet. All of the TVs are only about 1″ thick at the edges, 1.5″ thick at the glass, all with a sleek high-gloss black frame that is complemented by red accents. Like with most LED TVs, picture quality is brilliant on these TVs. Unfortunately, none of these TVs support HDMI 1.4a, which means that they’re not 3D ready. But these are still exciting new HDTVs because they’re about making LED TVs affordable for the masses.
Of the eight new models being released, all of the models up to the 42″ are Energy Star 5.0 compliant, which means that they’ll save you some money on your electric bill. Even the packaging for these products are eco-friendly – they’re made of a reusable recyclable carton that is covered in a soy based ink. Also, the 42″, 26″, 24″ and 32″ models can all be hung up using a regular wall hanger, instead of a wall mount! That makes these TVs easier to mount that most standard TVs, and also an overall better value since you don’t have to spend money on a wall mount or special installation.
The LD-245 is a 24″1080P display weighs just 9.26lbs with a stand and its pricing is expected to be under $299. Next is the LD-265, a 720P 26″ LED HDTV that is also super thin and weighs just 11lbs with its stand. Pricing should be around $329. The 32″ LD-325 features a 720P resolution, the LD-328 sports a 1080P resolution and both manage to use less energy than a 60 watt light bulb. Even the new 42″ LD-425 series manages to consume just 80 watts of power and is expected to retail for around $799. At the high end of the line-up, Westinghouse’s 55″ LD-55F970Z and 46″ LD-46F970Z both feature a a super-fast 6ms response time, a 120 Hz refresh rate, judder removal for flicker-free performance, 3D noise reduction and an Inverse 3:2 pulldown feature for optimized movie playback, as well as comprehensive connectivity options, including 3 HDMI ports, all while meeting Energy Star 4.0 requirements.
